Mylar Comic Bags – No comic looks better than in a 100 micron polyester comic bag. Polyester – aka Mylar – is considered the safest of all archival plastics for conservation storage, ideal for the manufacture of archival quality comic bags and sleeves.  Stable and chemically inert, it offers optical clarity, strength, rigidity and resistance to degradation for the protection for comics, manuscripts, photographic prints, drawings, maps, etc.
Two sizes available for silver age comics – Silver and Regular. Other unique sizes available upon request.
Silver – 181*268mm (7⅛*10½”) + 38mm flap (W*L). Due to the rigidity this suits current and modern comics.
Regular – 184*268mm (7¼*10½”) + 38mm flap (W*L). Good for the larger annuals/specials for current and modern comics as well as silver age comics.
BACKING BOARDS – Best boards to suit Elite Silver polyester bags are Modern size backing boards either Standard Modern 100 pack, or Premium Modern boards. It is best practice to use a board 6mm less than the width of the polyester bag.

Microchamber Technology: active against gas oxidants – Backing boards which can fight against acidic gases such as: Nitrogen Dioxide and Sulphur Dioxide from air pollution – Ozone (UV radiations) – Formaldehyde (tobacco smokes) – Ammonia (contained in cleaning products) – Acetic acid (contained in all papers during their ageing). These gases, when mixed with humidity, create liquid acids which attack the artwork and then deteriorate it. “Zeolites” act as carbon filters, trapping and holding pollutants, preventing them from damaging the artwork while preserving the colours. This is the Microchamber Technology.
